SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The California Highway Patrol activated a Silver Alert for a missing 56-year-old woman last seen Monday in Oakland.
Authorities are searching for Margartia Vasquez Hernandez, who is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 190 pounds. She has burgundy hair and brown eyes.

The missing woman was last seen near Seventh and Chester streets in Oakland at around 6:25 p.m. Monday. She was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants and was carrying a pink backpack, CHP said.
The Silver Alert was activated for Alameda, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Riverside counties.
CHP believes she is on foot.
Anyone who sees Margartia Vasquez Hernandez is asked to call 911.
