INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Central Indiana continues to enjoy unseasonably warm, dry weather through the rest of the work week. The big question: Will rain affect your Halloween weekend plans? Here’s what you need to know.

Today (Wednesday):

Sunshine dominates across Central Indiana with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. A strong area of high pressure over New England keeps conditions dry and pleasant. Expect temperatures about 10 to 15 degrees above normal for late October.

Tonight:

Clear skies continue with comfortable overnight lows dropping into the low to mid 50s. Light winds from the south keep temperatures comfortably cool.

Thursday:

The warmest day of the week. Southwesterly winds push temperatures into the upper 70s to about 80 degrees across the area.

Friday:

Temperatures back off slightly as the stalled front sits across Central Indiana. Highs will reach the mid- to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies.

Weekend Outlook – Halloween Impact:

Here’s where things get tricky for your weekend plans.

Saturday (Halloween): Clouds increase throughout the day as moisture moves in from the southwest. Highs in the mid- to upper 60s. A few isolated showers possible late in the day, especially south of Indianapolis, but most areas stay dry through the afternoon and evening hours.

Sunday: Periods of rain likely throughout the day as a low-pressure system over the southern plains sends waves of moisture our way. Highs only in the mid 60s with cloudy skies.

7-day forecast:

Monday: Scattered showers remain possible, though rain chances decrease slightly compared to Sunday. Temperatures stay in the mid- to upper 60s with mostly cloudy conditions.

Tuesday : Rain chances increase again as a deeper low-pressure system tracks through the region with a warm front lifting across Central Illinois and Indiana. Expect periods of rain that could impact trick-or-treating plans. Temperatures in the mid 60s.
